WIC

WIC is a SPECIAL SUPPLEMENTAL NUTRITION PROGRAM FOR WOMEN, INFANTS, AND CHILDREN.

The WIC Program provides services to pregnant women, new mothers, infants, and children up to five years of age who are at nutritional risk. Services are based on medical and income eligibility. The primary services provided are:

Health screening and risk assessment.
Nutrition education and counseling.
Breastfeeding promotion and support
Referrals to services specific to individual needs, such as health care providers and social services agencies.
Monthly instruments for nutritional, supplemental foods.

WIC is available to low income families in Gentry, DeKalb, and Worth counties. Special formulas for infants with special needs (prematurity, hypo-allergenic, metabolic, etc.) are available with a Doctor's order.

WIC CLINIC SCHEDULE

Grant City WIC Clinic is held the 1st Monday of each month at the Methodist Church in Grant City. Clinic hours are from 9:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. The staff leaves for lunch at approximately 11:45 A.M. and returns at approximately 1:00 P.M. Certification is done by appointment. Walk-ins are accepted if time allows. Appointments can be made by calling 800-780-2707.
Stanberry WIC Clinics are held on the first 4 Wednesday’s of each month at the office located at 302 North Park Street in Stanberry. Clinic hours are from 8:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. The office does not close for lunch. Certification is done by appointment. Walk-ins are accepted if time allows. Appointments can be made by calling 660-783-2707 or 800-780-2707.
Maysville WIC Clinics are held on the first 4 Thursdays of each month at the office located at 200 N Camden in Maysville (City Hall building). Clinic hours are from 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. The office closes for lunch at 12:15 and reopens at 12:45. Certification is done by appointment. Walk-ins are accepted if time allows. Appointments can be made by calling 800-780-2707 or 816-449-5706.
